Reference Design for Industrial Controller DC-DC Power Control
The Mpression +/-12V Output Isolated DC/DC Board with LT8302 is a reference board specially developed for industrial control applications.
Industrial equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) connected to field bus networks requires a high precision positive and negative power supply to accommodate analog signal processing circuitry for sensors. At the same time, the power needs to be isolated to avoid any unexpected damages at sensor nodes to spread to the whole system.
This reference board is designed using Analog Devices isolated voltage controller (LT8302) and Wurth Elektronik general-purpose transformer (750313443). The availability of transformers is often a problem for using an isolated voltage controller, but this design is more easily adopted as it uses a general-purpose transformer.
- Monolithic isolated flyback converter
- Operates with 2.8V to 42V input range

- Sampling isolated output voltage directly from the primary-side flyback waveform
- Regulates output voltage without a tertiary winding and an optoisolator
